Shaquille O’Neal has expressed his opinion about Kevin Durant‘s decision to ask for a trade in his bid to part ways with the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the 2022/23 NBA campaign.
The NBA legend doesn’t believe it is logical that the Nets star wants to leave Brooklyn when the franchise has done everything possible to put together a team aiming to compete for the title, with Durant as their main star.
“When you put a house together, you should live in it,” O’Neal told the Rich Eisen Show.
“You, as a leader, should make it work. But, you don’t want to make it work.
“I guess you go buy another house. You know, he’s probably trying to get to a contender.
“It’s easier that way.”
Durant‘s future remains unclear as the Nets still hope that he will withdraw his trade request and stay put next season.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are reportedly interested in Durant and they seem willing to offer Jaylen Brown as part of a potential trade deal.
