Barcelona have spent big this summer to lure various talented players to Catalonia. However, they didn’t manage to convince Kenan Yildiz to join, as the 17-year-old attacking midfielder turned down the Catalans and decided to sign for Juventus instead.
Yildiz parted ways with Bayern Munich after refusing to renew his contract and joined the Old Lady until 2025.
He is currently featuring for their Primavera side, but Italian media already suggest that he could make the leap to the U23 team who participate in Serie C.
Juventus‘ intention is to allow Yildiz to develop through their ranks and make it to the first team in the future.
Aesch tournament was his springboard
Yildiz only needed a couple of weeks to show off his huge potential. He has scored four goals in total, three of which came against Valencia in the final, to lead Juventus to Aesch tournament success.
Yildiz‘s performances earned him the MVP of the tournament prize and proved right those who bet on his signing.
The playmaker stands out not only for his great technical quality and his ability to play key passes, but also for his effectiveness in front of goal.
Golden Boy nominee
Yildiz‘s name has been included in the list of the 80 players nominated for the Golden Boy. The award is given to the best U21 player of the season.
His skills have earned him a nomination for the prestigious award, which has recently been won by the likes of Pedri, Erling Haaland, Joao Felix and Kylian Mbappe.
