Johnny Depp allegedly kicked Amber Heard in the head according to messages excluded from the trial

Text messages that were excluded from the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reveal the actor’s assistant admitting he allegedly kicked his ex-wife in the head.

According to a report by The Daily Beast, more than 6,000 previously sealed pages about the case were made public over the weekend.

What did the messages say?

The 2014 messages sent by Stephen Reuter‘s, Depp’s then-assistant, detail how the actor had kicked Heard while they were travelling on a private plane.

“If someone was truly honest with him about how bad it really was, he would be appalled,” Reuter texted Heard about Depp.

“I’m sad he does not have a better way to really know the severity of his actions yesterday.

“Unfortunately for me, I remember them in full, in full detail, everything that happened.

“He was appalled, when I told him he kicked you, he cried.”

Depp reportedly apologised for what happened

The actor reportedly sent a remorseful text to Heard about the incident according to the documents.

“Once again, I find myself in a place of shame and regret,” wrote Depp.

“Of course I am sorry… I will never do it again…My illness somehow crept up and grabbed me… I feel so bad for letting you down.”

In other messages, Depp called himself a “f***ing savage” and a “lunatic”.

Why weren’t the messages used in trial?

Brown Rudnick, the law firm that represented Depp, stated they had been unable to find any record of the text messages on the actor’s iCloud and investigated whether they had been deleted.

In the end, they indicated in court documents that the text messages were “missing”.

The ex-couple’s UK trial did feature the messages related to the kicking incident, but the judge in the the Virginia case deemed them inadmissible.

The defamation trial between the two concluded on June 1, with the jury finding Heard guilt of defaming Depp.

The jury noted that an attorney for the actor defamed Heard in the counterclaim.

In the end, Depp received 10.35 million dollars in damages, while Heard received 2 million dollars.
