Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka has been officially suspended for the entire 202-23 season due to a cheating scandal. Reports confirmed he had a consensual intimate relationship with one of the women in the Celtics staff. He effectively cheated on actress Mia Long, who was his fianc before all of this came to light.
For the Boston Celtics organization, this is not the type of image the institution wants to portray to the public. Apart from violating workplace rules, the negative press this is already getting will be too much to bare for the team. Coach Udoka hadn’t spoken about his “mishap” but he finally broke his silence through a public statement.
Udoka feels sorry for putting the Boston Celtics through this
In his statement, Ime Udoka shows remorse for getting into this mess and apologized to the Boston Celtics. However, he never once issues a public apology to his fianc, actress Mia Long. In fact, he decided to not even go into details about what happened. Udoka made the decision to remain silent and allow the narrative to take a life of its own in social media.
People are already starting to speculate about who the staff member is. This is what Udoka said in his statement: “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
Twitter users confuse another staff member with Udoka’s mystery mistress
Vice-President of Player Development and Organizational Growth, Allison Feaster has been falsely identified as the woman with whom Udoka had this affair with. Several local journalists already debunked this theory and kept the woman’s idantity private. None of the involved parties has released any further statement at the moment.
