Mike Tomlin Net Worth: What is the Steelers head coach’s fortune and salary?

Being one of the youngest coaches in the history of American sports, Mike Tomlin became the 16th Pittsburgh Steelers head coach in 2007, also being the first black boss to take charge of the team.

Tomlin never played professionally in the NFL, but he was an American football player in high school, where he featured as wide receiver/tight end.

Willing to follow his coaching passion, Tomlin decided to become a coach back in 1995 at the age of 23, when he was hired as a wide receiver coach by the Virginia Military Institute.

It was there that he attracted interest from Arkansas State University, whom he joined as a defensive backs coach before moving to the University of Cincinnati.

He made the leap into the NFL back in 2001, when he was hired as the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tomlin stayed there for four seasons before joining the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive coordinator and the signed for the Steelers to become the 10th African-American head coach in NFL history.

At the age of 36, he managed to break all records by becoming the youngest NFL head coach to win a Super Bowl in 2009.

What is the Steelers head coach’s fortune and salary?

Despite having had zero head coaching experience when he joined the Steelers, Tomlin led his team to glory in 2009. He is considered as one of the finest coaches in the NFL despite having failed to win a single playoff game in the last eight years.

Deservedly being one of the highest-paid head coaches in the league, Tomlin makes about $11.5 million per year according to Sportico. As of 2022, his net worth is estimated at $16 million. Back in 2021, Tomlin put pen to paper on a new three-year deal.

“I am extremely grateful for this contract extension and want to thank Art Rooney II and everyone in the organization for the support in my first 14 seasons,” Tomlin said in a statement.

“We have a goal of winning the organization’s seventh Super Bowl championship, and I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about this upcoming season.”
