Los Angeles FC have announced their roster decisions following the conclusion of the 2022 MLS season.
The Black and Gold enjoyed a stellar campaign, lifting both the MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield titles – becoming the first team to do the double since Toronto FC in 2017.
In preparation for their title defense in 2023, LAFC have exercised contract options on midfielders Kellyn Acosta and Latif Blessing, goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, and defender Mamadou Fall – the latter is currently on loan at La Liga side Villarreal.
LAFC declined a contract option on Spanish forward Cristian Tello, but are expected to re-negotiate a new deal with the former Barcelona man.
Contract options have been declined on Cal Jennings Danny Trejo, and Tomas Romero, with the latter two eligible for the MLS Re-Entry Draft Process.
Ryan Hollingshead, Sebastien Ibeagha, Franco Escobar, Sebastian Mendez, and Eddie Segura have all seen their contracts expire. However, LAFC are in talks to renew deals for each player.
Right now, the LAFC roster for the 2023 MLS season is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Maxime Crepeau, John McCarthy
Defenders: Giorgio Chiellini, Erick Duenas, Mamadou Fall [Loan], Julian Gaines, Tony Leone, Jesus Murillo, Diego Palacios, Mohamed Traore,
