Rockets coach forgets he’s in public, celebrates Steph Curry dagger in first Warriors road win

The Golden State Warriors (8-9) defeated the Houston Rockets (3-14) Sunday night at Toyota Center with a dagger three-point shot from Stephen Curry that had the home side’s assistant coach in disbelief.

Klay Thompson scored 10 triples on his way to a new season-high 41 points and to lead all scorers on the floor, but it was Curry’s late shot from beyond the arc that iced the exciting game.

One of the Rockets assistant coaches seemingly forgot he was out in public when Curry scored the deep bucket, showing excitement by falling back into his chair.

It didn’t take long for Rockers assistant coach John Lucas to go viral on social media, with NBA Twitter understanding his reaction.

When witnessing greatness in real time, it’s hard to contain one’s emotion, especially if it’s Curry draining threes.

Stephen Curry’s night-night celebration evolves

After hitting the dagger triple, Curry hit his iconic “night-night” celebration, but with a bit of a twist.

Curry did the sleeping gesture as he leaped in the air, joyful over finally snapping an eight-game skid on the road.

The defending champions were 0-8 on the road to start the 2022 NBA season.

Golden State’s 127-120 victory over Houston comes a night before visiting the New Orleans Pelicans, where Curry and company will look to get a second consecutive road win.
